"Serving and Celebrating!"
Thanksgiving Community Outreach
IBC's Community Outreach Team is planning a Thanksgiving Outreach to the inner city that every member can have a part in. Members of IBC will be serving a complete Thanksgiving dinner on Thanksgiving Day, 11 a.m until 1 p.m., at the Frank School to poorer families of Kenosha. Every member is encouraged to either give or serve or both for this expression of love to our city and it's poor.
2008 Women's Christmas Banquet
The 2008 Annual Women's Christmas Banquet will be Monday, December 8th, at 6:30 p.m. Special guests will be the accapella group "Common Thread." A great meal and intimate fellowship are always a part of this event. You are encouraged to bring both family and friends. Tickets will be available until November 23rd.
2008 Christmas Choir Cantata
As we approach another Christmas, we are once again reminded that our Lord, who was royalty in the truest sense, came to this earth where no royal reception was given for Him. He left His throne in heaven to be born in a stable and placed in a feeding trough. These thoughts are the basis of the IBC Choir's 2008 Christmas Cantata, Welcome To Our World. On Sunday, December 14th, 6:00 p.m., IBC's sanctuary will reverberate with this incredible message of God's love. Come and bring friends and family.
CareNet Christmas Benefit Concert Dec. 7
A Christmas Benefit Concert for the CareNet Family Resource Center (formerly the Crisis Pregnancy Center) will take place at IBC on December 7th at 3:00 p.m. The concert will feature jazz saxophonist Jeremy Scott, the Madrigal Singers of Christian Life High School and Pam Scott, a soloist from Agape Christian Fellowship, Waukegan. A free will offering will be taken.
ESV Study Bible Available!
The much anticipated ESV Study Bible will be released on October 14th locally and on the internet. Both the ESV translation and the Study Bible were directed by Dr. J.I. Packer of Knowing God fame. Locally you can purchase the new study Bible at the Fruit of the Spirit Bookstore on Green Bay Road. The best internet price is at the Westminster Bookstore. Pastor Dave will be preaching from the ESV beginning in 2009.
100 Days of Prayer to Start 2009!
Believing that God wants to accomplish some unique and powerful things at IBC, the leadership is calling the congregation to prayer to begin a new year. For 100 days -- from January 1 through Good Friday, the church will come together in a variety of ways to pray for the current ministries and outreaches, as well as the things IBC is currently being stirred to do. All will have a part -- from the youngest to the oldest. "Prepare to meet your God."
New Children's Sunday School Curriculum
IBC's Childrens Ministries unveiled the new Sunday School curriculum at the Fall Kickoff on September 7. Created by Bethlehem Baptist in Minneapolis, the Children Desiring God curriculum will challenge our children to delight in and be completely satisfied with Almighty God. An overview of the study is available at its website. Bethlehem Baptist is pastored by Dr. John Piper.
